Seagulls, Starfish, Mermaids and Butterfly Rest are stunning contemporary self-catering bungalows within St Ives Holiday Village. The properties have recently been totally renovated and are set in a peaceful area with woodland views from all windows. The interiors are fresh and contemporary with an open plan kitchen/living room, leading to a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a family bathroom. The bungalows are a perfect place to recharge your batteries and so are an ideal retreat for couples.

St Ives and the beaches are just 10 minutes drive away

Families with small children will love the seaside themed interior aspect and the properties are just far enough from the car park to warrant a reasonably safe enough place for children and parents to relax outside. The 2 double front aspect doors open fully to let the outdoors in, and the woodland is literally on your doorstep. The beaches and hustle and bustle of St Ives are only about a 10-minute drive away, allowing you to then return back to your peaceful retreat at the end of the day for a nice deserved glass of wine on the patio.

In a truly unique setting

All the amenities of St Ives Holiday Village are a 5-minute walk away to be enjoyed as and when you wish during their opening hours, currently late March to October ( charges apply). All 4 bungalows boast a truly unique setting where all manners of wildlife can be viewed from inside and out. Rabbits, squirrels, jays, robins, finches and of course seagulls regularly visit, and cuckoos, woodpeckers and owls can often be heard.

The Bungalows

Bedrooms: 
Both bedrooms have underfloor heating and views directly onto woodland and are well equipped with ample storage space and luxury bed linen.
Bedroom 1 = Double bed, ( lush memory foam mattress)
Bedroom 2 = 2 x single beds, wall hung TV / DVD

Bathrooms: 
Fully tiled contemporary bathroom, bath with overhead shower, toilet, hand basin with vanity unit, wall hung towel warmer/radiator, mirror with light, extractor fan. Mermaids Rest is slightly different as it doesn’t have a bath, but a spacious walk-in shower cubicle.

Kitchen: 
Open plan kitchen and dining area with white fresh ‘seaside themed’ touches. Oven, hob, extractor fan, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and electric plinth heater. Fully equipped for four with folding table and chairs.

Living Rooms: 
Open plan with sofa and chaise longue. Laminate flooring, wall hung TV / DVD player. Double opening patio doors leading onto the outside patio area. Electric log effect optiflame stove creates a lovely cosy atmosphere, especially for winter evenings. Mermaids Rest also has underfloor heating in the lounge area.

Other: 
Double glazed, with easily cleanable light grey laminate flooring throughout.

Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service: 
Pillows, duvets, bed linen, bath mat, hand towels and tea towels are provided. Blankets are provided for snuggling up on the sofa or for extra warmth when needed. Guests need to bring their own bath and beach towels. Property is cleaned at change over.

Location Type: 
Set in 100 acres of woodland, but only 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach and only a 10-minute drive to the centre of St Ives.

Accessibility
All 4 bungalows are a  very short walk away from the free parking area and accessed via a gently sloping flagged pathway. There is a small step into the doorway and then the bungalow is entirely on one level. The shower is above the bath and although there is a handrail in place some elderly/disabled people may find stepping into the bath a problem. Please see the photograph of the bathroom to assess or contact the owner for further details. Guests who think they may struggle with a bath should book Mermaids Rest as this has a spacious walk-in shower cubicle.

Outside
Outside private ‘pebble beach’ dining area with picnic table and chairs and a large barbecue.. Directly facing the woodland or a pleasant grassy area where a host of wildlife can be observed. Your very own pebble beach in the woods. Bliss!

Guests can enjoy all the St Ives Holiday Village on-site amenities and are a short stroll through the woods away. These include Kids club, amusements, evening entertainment, table tennis, restaurant, take away, beer garden, shop, heated indoor pool, sauna, internet cafe, free WiFi in the clubhouse, launderette etc. Amenities are open March to October at the present time. Notes on prices

Holiday cancellation insurance is the responsibility of the guests and is NOT included in any of the prices. Prices can be changed at the owner’s discretion. Prices include the cost of electricity and the use of bed linen and tea towels. Please contact the owner for details.

Changeover day Change over day is Friday, Saturday  ( depending on which bungalow ) during high season, but is flexible during low season. Arrival time is from 4pm and departure time is before 10am. The key is located in a secure locked box and guests will be given the code prior to arrival.

Booking notes Reservations and queries can be made by phone, email or via the online booking system.  Payment is accepted by Bacs. A £100 deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance becoming payable 8 weeks prior to holiday start date. Prior written consent must be obtained from the owner before any pets are taken into the holiday cottage. A £50 charge is also applicable.

Pet Fee – A charge of £35 per dog. – maximum 2 dogs and no puppies under 12 months without prior consent ( please message me regarding this ) 

Christmas Period

St Ives comes into its own during the festive season and is a great place to do Christmas shopping. Its unique gift shops are stocked with local art, cornish clothing, and unusual stocking fillers. The beautiful lanes of shops are a pleasure to explore, before calling into one of the local coffee shops for well-earned refreshments.

New Year in St Ives has become a famous celebration with street parties, fireworks and almost compulsory fancy dress, and the atmosphere is electrifying.  

Close by Angarrack, (the secret village tucked behind the Hayle M&S / Next retail park), comes alive during the festive period when they open up their village with a spectacular Christmas light display.

All 4 bungalows Are uniquely decorated for the festive period with fairy lights and a driftwood Christmas tree from early December to early January. The log effect stove will come into its own during this time, whilst snuggled up on the sofa under our fluffy throws. A festive welcome hamper is also, provided. Pure festive bliss! The holiday village amenities are closed during this time making the park very quiet and it really is a very special place for families to hide away and celebrate the festive period doing whatever they wish.
